Citeproof verifies academic references.

Paste a bibliography, a paragraph, or a single DOI, arXiv ID or PMID, and Citeproof looks each reference up in Crossref, DataCite, OpenAlex and Semantic Scholar. It reports whether a matching record exists, the matched title, authors, year, venue and DOI, a confidence score, and flags such as retractions.

Instructions: Citeproof looks up references against Crossref, DataCite, OpenAlex and Semantic Scholar and keeps a history of the account's checks. and single lookups () also work without sign-in; free anonymous lookups share an hourly cap across all visitors. fetches a paper's abstract and returns the sentences related to a claim. Each signed-in account has a monthly allowance of checks. Metered tools report the checks remaining; when the allowance is used up they return an error whose limit_message states when checks reset.
