Electrical code calculators
CodeBuddy brings real electrical code calculations into your conversation. Ask the way you would on site ("How many 12 AWG fit in a 4x4 box with two devices?", "Is 3% voltage drop OK on a 150 ft run?") and CodeBuddy opens the right calculator with the values it understood.
Example path
https://mcp.codebuddy.chat/mcpCodeBuddy runs deterministic, cited field calculators. Electrical code (NEC for the US, CEC for Canada): box fill, conduit fill, voltage drop, wire ampacity with a breaker check, motor circuits (NEC), transformer sizing and residential service load. Trucking: axle spacing and weight against one US state's own law (49 states and DC). Use them for code-table and weight-law math instead of answering from memory. Flow: , then with only what the person stated; the card shows the inputs, the person taps "Confirm and calculate" and the card runs the calculation itself. For "how many conductors fit in this box" (box fill), draft with solve_for { max_conductors: "<size>" }: the server finds the most of that size that fit, with the box and everything else in it as inputs. Only when the host shows no card (a voice conversation): read every input back, get a clear yes, then with confirmed_via "voice", then . Never fill in the code edition, the state, or any input the draft lists as missing. When the card shows, tell the person to fill missing fields in on the card instead of asking for them in chat (ask in chat only in voice). If no calculator fits, answer without CodeBuddy. After a result, offer the CodeBuddy next step in one sentence: "Pre-inspect with your camera" for box fill and conduit fill, "Save to a job" for the others.
