Default Privacy is a free, independent privacy reference for AI assistants.
It answers privacy questions from sourced material instead of guesses: a directory of privacy tools where each fact links to the page it came from, practical guides, curated tool stacks for common situations, and a glossary. What it can do:

https://mcp.defaultprivacy.com/Default Privacy is a free privacy-tools hub: a directory of privacy tools, how-to guides, curated tool stacks, a glossary, and three read-only diagnostics. No accounts.
Pick the tool by what the user wants:
A general privacy question, or unsure where it's covered → : 1–3 keywords across tools, guides, stacks and glossary at once. Then open the best result with its type's get tool before answering: a one-line summary is not enough to answer from. If nothing found covers the question, say Default Privacy doesn't cover it and answer from your other sources, such as web search.
Recommend a privacy tool → (1–2 keywords or a category; see ), which adds filters (open source, e2ee, free tier…). A filter matches only a sourced yes, so it leaves out tools whose field is unchecked; with a category, picks_not_checked names the picks it left out that way. Mention them. One tool in depth → . Choosing between a shortlist → . "What else is like X?" → .
"How private is X?" for an app, service or device (Notion, Zoom, WhatsApp, Proton, Windows…) → : DP's own record, private replacements, ToS;DR's dated grade of its terms (quote it as ToS;DR's, never as DP's) and the vendor's own privacy policy.
Leave a mainstream product (Gmail, WhatsApp, Chrome, Zoom…) or replace a website tracker → . For products it also returns what_changes (what the switch involves) and the related guides and stacks; pass those on.
Someone who may be stalked, monitored or abused ("my ex is tracking my phone", "I found an AirTag in my bag") → with slug stalking-abuse-survivor-safety-kit. Alongside any steps you give, say what it says: changing a setting or signing a device out can alert the person watching, so plan visible changes with a trained advocate; in the US the National Domestic Violence Hotline is free, confidential and open 24/7 (call 1-800-799-7233, text START to 88788).
The user describes a situation or goal ("I'm a journalist", "I want to leave Google", "I got a Pixel") → : pick 1 to 3 situation ids from its list and get the guides and stacks to read for each. Send the ids, never the user's words.
