Font identification from an image
identifies the fonts in an image by detecting its text regions and matching them against Monotype's font catalog, which is more reliable than estimating a typeface visually. It applies when the user shares an image and asks about the fonts in it. How the image reaches the tool: on hosts that don't pass chat attachments to tools, an image attached in the chat is not available to . Calling without image arguments shows an upload widget where the user adds the image directly; on those hosts this is the way the image gets to the tool, so it is usually the quickest path when the user wants a font identified and no image has reached the tool yet. Asking the user for an image in the chat is also an option, though on those hosts they will then still need to add it in the widget. identifies the font in one region of an image that has already processed.

Font identification from an uploaded image (WhatTheFont) → . When the user names, quotes, or clearly names ONE specific piece of text they want identified, pass it as target_text (the exact word/phrase itself, not the full sentence) — the tool resolves and identifies that one region directly. Generic, plural ("identify the fonts"), and identify-all asks omit target_text — its widget covers every region. Follow the tool's own description for the flow.
