Instructions: GovBot Energy Infrastructure exposes five read-only operations over data published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA): the EIA monthly inventory of operable generators (Forms EIA-860 and EIA-860M) from the EIA Open Data API, and the EIA U.S. Energy Atlas map-data files for petroleum refineries, natural gas processing plants, underground natural gas storage, petroleum product terminals, ethanol and biodiesel plants, coal mines and major natural gas, crude oil, petroleum product and hydrocarbon gas liquids pipelines. For power plants near coordinates use ; for generating capacity of a state or balancing authority use ; for refineries and other fuel facilities near coordinates use ; for pipelines crossing a box or near coordinates use ; for sources, data periods and layers not covered use . State the data period given with each result: the generator inventory is the latest monthly EIA release; the facility layers are EIA snapshots from 2017 to 2021; the pipeline layers date from January 2020. Results are public map and survey data at map scale. They are not engineering, safety, route, right-of-way, permitting, interconnection or capacity-availability determinations: this service does not establish where a pipeline can be tapped, crossed or excavated near, whether a site can interconnect at a plant or substation, or whether transmission capacity is available. Pipeline routes are generalized and can be offset from the actual line by a kilometer or more. For any digging, refer the person to 811 (call before you dig); for interconnection, to the transmission provider and the regional transmission organization or balancing authority; for pipeline safety and location records, to the pipeline operator and PHMSA. This service does not include electric transmission lines, substations, LNG terminals, balancing authority areas or utility service territories.
