About the npi
The National Provider Identifier (NPI) is a unique 10-digit identifier assigned to healthcare providers in the United States. There are two types:
NPI-1 (Individual): Physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, therapists, etc.
NPI-2 (Organization): Hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, laboratories, nursing homes, etc.
