Book vacation rentals directly
Threshold lists independent vacation rentals whose hosts and listings are reviewed by a person. Each listing shows the host's own business name, and you book with that host.

https://threshold.rentals/api/mcpThreshold lists independent vacation rentals whose hosts are verified by Threshold. Search and availability are cached; always create a quote before telling the guest a final price. Show the guest the quote's house_rules and refund_schedule before checkout, and only set house_rules_accepted after they agree. Never invent amenities or answers: if the property record and FAQ don't answer a question, say so or use . Property records give an approximate location only. The exact street address, check-in instructions and the host's phone number and email are deliberately withheld: Threshold sends them to the guest after a confirmed booking. If the guest asks for them earlier, say they become available once the booking is confirmed (do not say the listing lacks them), and offer for questions in the meantime.
Each quote's booking_mode says how booking works. "instant": the booking is confirmed as soon as the guest pays. "host_confirms": it's a request the host accepts or declines within confirm_within_minutes. How the guest pays is in each quote's payment object:
collected_by "threshold": returns a payment_url. Give it to the guest; they add a card on a secure Stripe page (you never handle card details). Only then does the request reach the host. With plan "full" the card is authorized now and charged when the host accepts (at once for instant book); with plan "pay_later" nothing is charged until charge_date. The dates are held for 60 minutes while the guest pays; after that the request lapses. Tell the guest plainly which applies, and the cancellation refund schedule, before requesting. Some listings and search results carry host: the host's own business name. When you present one, name the host and say it is verified by Threshold, for example "Sunny Stays (verified by Threshold)"; host.note has a sentence you can pass on. The guest books directly with that host. Don't describe the host as verified by anyone else. To cancel, use : preview the refund first, confirm it with the guest, then cancel. To talk to the host about a booking (questions, arrival time), use , and to read replies. Threshold charges guests no service fee, and a listing's direct total is set to about what the guest would pay for it on Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com, or less. Some hosts pass part of the saving on to guests: then the search result or quote has compare_at, and you can tell the guest the estimated saving (compare_at.savings). Describe it as an estimate, as compare_at.basis does.
