WebAbility detectors (60+ rules — gradient-aware contrast, weak names, decorative-icon detection, etc.)
axe-core (104 rules) Results from both are deduplicated into one issue list.

issues: violations the scanner stands behind. A finding the engines cannot decide is resolved to a verdict — contrast on a gradient is measured from rendered pixels, model-free rules settle clear cases (a measured pass, a decorative pixel), and an AI judge (vision + markup, when configured) turns the rest into a violation with a fix or a recorded pass. Every verdict is in judged[] with its reason. What neither can settle is dropped, never guessed.
